The South Australian Government has reached its renewable energy target of 20% by 2014 three years ahead of schedule according to RenewablesSA, a South Australian state government intiative.
In a recently published plan, "Renewable Energy Plan for South Australia", the former Premier of SA, Mike Rann, announced a target of 33% Renewable energy in South Australia by 2020.
As part of South Australia's commitment to generation of Renewable Energy, there is also an intiative to purchase 50% of the Government's electricity consumption by 2014 from GreenPower.
