Consultation: Proposed Program Rule Change – ACT GreenPower sales
GreenPower is seeking feedback on a proposed change to the GreenPower Renewable Electricity Program Rules.
What’s changing and why
The proposed change removes the restriction on consumption-based GreenPower sales in the ACT that was due to take effect on 1 July 2026 (see Section 3.4, page 12).
Based on Provider’s feedback and after further consideration, GreenPower is proposing to reverse this restriction because:
it creates practical implementation challenges for retailers due to electricity distribution boundaries in the ACT, and
it contradicts GreenPower’s longstanding approach of not restricting voluntary market demand.
If approved, ACT customers will continue to be able to purchase GreenPower through their electricity retailer, to support renewable electricity and meet their sustainability goals.
GreenPower is also proposing a minor administrative change to remove Generator fee details from the Rules and direct stakeholders to the GreenPower website for current information (see Appendix B Section 3, page 34).
